Week 14 Bye Knocks Patriots’ Drake Maye Out Of MVP Favorite

The NFL MVP race is shaping up to be a showdown between two players: Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and New England Patriots signal-caller Drake Maye.

Maye surged to the top of the MVP odds after defeating the New York Giants in Week 13. However, with New England on its bye week, Stafford now emerged as the favorite for the award.

As of Sunday night, FanDuel had Stafford’s MVP odds at -160, while Drake was sitting at +200, which marked the second-best odds.

Stafford had an outstanding performance on Sunday in the Rams’ 45-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. He threw for 281 yards and threw three touchdowns.

Stafford currently has 3,354 passing yards and 35 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Meanwhile, Maye boasts 3,412 passing yards, with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. However, Maye also brings 319 rushing yards and two scores to the table.

Maye has a chance to get back into the lead for MVP this upcoming Sunday when the Patriots take on the Buffalo Bills.

If Maye has an outstanding performance against the Bills, a team many consider one of the best in the NFL, it could position him ahead in the MVP race.
