Bears Coach Ben Johnson Goes Viral With Shirtless Celebration
Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is having a wildly successful first year as an NFL head coach, and he’s not afraid to show his excitement about it.
Johnson’s psychopathic focus and passion for the game has his Bears 9-3 on the season, and he tends to unwind and let loose during postgame celebrations in the Bears locker room, most recently in the form of ripping his shirt off and going crazy with his players after a huge win over the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.
You simply have to love this from Johnson. His players certainly do. Johnson is the special ingredient that makes the Bears low-key Super Bowl contenders. He’s completely turned the franchise around in one season, showing the value of hiring the right head coach.
Hired in January after excelling as the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator, the 39-year-old Johnson has instilled a culture of resilience and precision in the Bears locker room.
The Bears opened with two losses this season but rebounded fiercely, having captured eight of their next nine contests. Johnson’s scheme has elevated the Bears offense to top-10 status league-wide, averaging 26.6 points per game, with a punishing ground attack amassing 281 rushing yards in the Eagles win. Quarterback Caleb Williams in Year 2 has benefited from Johnson’s adaptive play-calling, blending runs and passes to keep defenses guessing.
Defensively, Chicago thrives in close games (6-1 in one-score affairs), reflecting Johnson’s emphasis on preparation and second-half adjustments. Players have credited his passion for building unbreakable belief, as seen in locker-room celebrations like his viral shirtless moment.
Atop the NFC North with a winning record secured for the first time since 2018, the Bears are eyeing the playoffs and a title run. Why not?
