Manchester United have a ‘secret weapon’ in race for Tottenham Hotspur transfer target
Tottenham Hotspur are not giving up on their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo, but the transfer race is getting increasingly more difficult with each passing day.
Unsurprisingly, since it emerged two weeks ago that Semenyo has a £65m release clause in his contract with Bournemouth, the race for the winger has been heating up.
Some sources have said over recent days that Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool are the three clubs battling for the Cherries star’s signature.
In fact, it has been asserted that it is competition from Liverpool that Spurs are most fearful of in the Semenyo race, but it turns out that another Premier League club may have one factor working in their favour.

TEAMtalk now claim that despite the growing competition for the Ghana international, Spurs are ‘poised to act decisively’ to land the 25-year-old winger in January.
Thomas Frank is said to be a big fan of Semenyo and believes he will elevate Tottenham’s attack and add a lot more firepower to their frontline.
However, the report says that Manchester United’s interest in the Bournemouth star has intensified and they have a secret weapon in the form of Bournemouth technical director Simon Francis, who is a a lifelong United fan.
The outlet asserts that Francis is set to pitch Old Trafford’s vision to Semenyo, which may position the Manchester club ahead of other suitors.
Liverpool are Semenyo’s most likely destination in January
However, TEAMtalk make it clear that despite Tottenham’s conclusion and United’s advantage, neither of those clubs are leading the race for Semenyo.
The pole position is occupied by Liverpool, who remain the favourites to lure the winger away from the Vitality Stadium when the transfer window reopens.
Arne Slot sees Semenyo as an upgrade over the options he has and expects the Ghanaian to fit seamlessly into his high-pressing blueprint.
