Patriots Injuries: Disappointing Report Regarding Captain

The injury bug bit the New England Patriots hard on Sunday.

Patriots captain Brenden Schooler suffered an ankle injury during the first half against the Bengals and did not return in New England’s 26-20 victory at Paycor Stadium. Schooler reportedly tested out his ankle on the sideline, and showed frustration after not being able to return.

The special teams ace was in the Patriots locker room wearing a walking boot on his left foot, according to the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters after the game he didn’t have injury updates on any of the players who exited the game early. The list of injured players included left tackle Will Campbell (knee), left guard Jared Wilson (ankle) and defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga (chest).

A First Team All-Pro for his contributions on special teams, any prolonged absence for Schooler would be a major loss for the AFC East-leading Patriots.
