Joe Burrow Update: Key Development Before Patriots-Bengals

It seems there’s a better chance than initially expected.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was a full participant in practice Wednesday, according to the team’s injury report. Burrow, who had in-season surgery after he suffered a turf toe injury, has not been a full participant since the injury occurred Sept. 14.

The Bengals host the New England Patriots in a Week 12 matchup at Paycor Stadium on Sunday.

Burrow remains on injured reserve and is not yet on Cincinnati’s active roster. He has been designated to return but remains in the 21-day window.

Before the Bengals took the practice field Wednesday, Cincinnati head coach Zac Taylor was asked if Burrow could potentially return Sunday. Taylor dismissed the idea.

“Until we get through some practices, there’s no reason for me to even speculate on that,” Taylor told reporters, per ESPN.

If Burrow is not able to return, veteran quarterback Joe Flacco will make his sixth straight start for the Bengals. Flacco (right shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, but it’s not expected to keep him out of the lineup, if needed.
