Italy plan venues for 2026 World Cup play-off semi-final and final
Italy are preparing for the World Cup play-offs in March 2026, with reports the semi-final will be in Bergamo, and the potential final in Rome.
The Azzurri play their last game of Group I this evening at San Siro, hosting Norway at 19.45 GMT.
Although a victory would put the two teams level on points, it would require an incredible 9-0 result to turn around the massive gap in goal difference.
That means the Nazionale know they are practically certain to be going into the play-offs, where they already faltered in 2018 and 2022.

The draw will be made on November 20, where Italy will learn who they are facing in the semi-final and then possibly also the final.
As top seeds, the Azzurri will have home advantage in the semi-final, with Sky Sport Italia reporting the New Balance Arena in Bergamo has been chosen for this match.
When it comes to the final, that is picked with a draw, but if Italy were to host that fixture, then there are suggestions the Stadio Olimpico in Rome would be chosen as the venue.
