Aston Villa FPL winners from Gameweek 11: Argentine duo pile on the points

0 1

The Premier League has reached the November international break and our Aston Villa FPL league has taken a big step forward thanks to a 4-0 home win.

Villa beat AFC Bournemouth very comfortably at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon and Fantasy Premier League players who’ve stuck with their Villa selections were rewarded for their loyalty.

Let’s check in with last week’s scores in the Premier League’s official FPL game.

Top Aston Villa FPL scorers in GW11

If you’ve ever doubted FPL’s ability to turn good performances in the real world into genuinely reflective scores, this Gameweek 11 should reassure you.

Villa’s top two players were Argentinian pair Emiliano Martínez and Emi Buendía, the best two players on the pitch against Bournemouth.

Martínez added three saves to a penalty save and a clean sheet on the way to bonus points and a bumper haul of 14.

Buendía’s goal was boosted by 11 defensive contributions, bonus points and a GW11 total of 11 points.

Lucas Digne and Amadou Onana each racked up nine points from the Bournemouth game, with another five gaining six points each. One of those was Ezri Konsa, who remains the most-selected Villa player and was in 8.4% of teams in GW11.

Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash are next on the list by that measure but you can bet Buendía, owned by just 0.4% of teams, will be jumping up the rankings very soon.

AVF FPL update GW11

Niall Relihan has overhauled Ahmed Elgharably to sneak into the top five, where Warren Torch in second gained 20 points on league leader Gary James in GW11.

William McGuinness was our top scorer, picking up 64 points in a gameweek where total were generally decimated across the board. Villa’s goalkeeper played his part along with captain João Pedro and Igor Thiago.

My team gained a couple of places despite a modest haul, albeit one that gained several points on Dan Hemming which matters to me more than you might assume.

At the bottom there were big gains for 44-point John Mortimer, whose jump to 73rd drops Lucy Smith into the bottom two, just two points clear of James Brownrigg whose 51 points really tightened things up at the foot of the table.
