Emporia State football looks for its fifth straight win against the 'Bods

0 2

EMPORIA (KSNT) - Emporia State football heads to Washburn for the Turnpike Tussle this Saturday.

The Hornets currently have a 4-6 record (3-4). They are coming off a tough homecoming game loss to No. 14-ranked Northwest Missouri 41-14.

Hornets Head Coach Garin Higgins said you always want to win the homecoming game, but the next thing is the Turnpike Tussle.

"The second thing they always say is you want to beat Washburn, so that's the second goal," Higgins said. "At the end of the day we just want to get a win, that's the most important thing."

Washburn is coming into the game with a 2-7 (1-6) record, coming off a 27-24 loss at Missouri Western.

Emporia State has won the last four games against the 'Bods and 10 of the last 12 games overall.

Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. this Saturday at Yager Stadium.
