Christian Gonzalez Issues Two-Word Message After Patriots’ Latest Win
The New England Patriots kept the good times rolling in Week 8, as they picked up a 32-13 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon. One guy who enjoyed a strong game was star cornerback Christian Gonzalez, and after this victory, he sent a simple two-word message to the rest of his team.
After missing the first three games of the season with a hamstring injury, Gonzalez has returned and helped stabilize New England’s secondary with his lockdown coverage abilities. It’s telling that the Patriots are a perfect 5-0 this season when Gonzalez has suited up.
Against the Browns, Gonzalez was simply spectacular. He racked up three tackles, one of which went for a loss, and a pair of pass deflections. Most importantly, though, was the fact that he completely shut out Cleveland’s dangerous wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, as he didn’t log a single reception in this game.
With Gonzalez erasing one side of the field by himself, it helps open things up for the rest of the Pats’ defense. After this win, Gonzalez was already looking ahead to the team’s next game, and it resulted in a quick message from him.
“Keep stacking,” Gonzalez simply said as he left the field at Gillette Stadium immediately after the Patriots’ win.
With this win, New England has now won its past five games, pushing its record to 6-2 on the season, which is good for the top spot in the AFC East. The Patriots will look to continue their winning ways when they return to action in Week 9 for their clash against the Atlanta Falcons.
