Celtics, Pelicans Share Jaylen Brown, Zion Williamson Injury News
The Boston Celtics will try for their first win of the 2025-26 season for the fourth time on Monday when they face the New Orleans Pelicans on the road.
Both the Celtics and Pelicans could be without their biggest stars due to injuries.
“Celtics Injury Report for today vs. New Orleans: Jaylen Brown – Left Hamstring Strain Reconditioning – QUESTIONABLE Jayson Tatum – Right Achilles Repair – OUT,” Celtics official account posted on X.
“#Pelicans Injury Report Update for tonight: Karlo Matkovic (low back spasms) – Available Yves Missi (right ankle sprain) – Available Zion Williamson (Left Foot Bone Contusion) – Questionable,” the Pelicans official account posted on X.
Jaylen Brown suffered his hamstring strain during Boston’s preseason finale against the Toronto Raptors in mid-October but has played each of the team’s first three regular-season contests.
Monday is the Celtics’ first back-to-back of the campaign, however.
Brown went off for a season-high (and game-high) 41 points in Boston’s loss vs. the Detroit Pistons on Sunday after combining for 48 points across the team’s first two games.
New Orleans forward Zion Williamson wasn’t included on the Pelicans’ original injury report for Monday’s battle and he’s played both of the group’s first two games of the season. New Orleans is also winless through the early goings.
The two-time All-Star and former No. 1 overall pick had 27 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals during the Pelicans’ overtime loss vs. the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.
