Patriots Post Epic Photo Of Highlight Play From Week 8 Win

One of the best plays of the 2025 season helped the New England Patriots secure a Week 8 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Down 23-7 in the third quarter, Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel pressed the issue by heaving a ball downfield. The pass traveled nearly 60 air yards before Patriots safety Jaylinn Hawkins made a diving one-handed interception.

A snapshot of his feat makes the stellar takeaway look even more impressive. Hawkins reaches out to grab the ball with his right hand while draped by Browns wide receiver Isaiah Bond.

Here’s a look at the photo, courtesy of New England’s social media page:

Hawkins explained his thought process during the spectacular play in his post-game press conference.

“I was back there just anticipating the play,” Hawkins said. “The rush, he threw it up. I was looking at the ball and just tracking it, seeing the ball through the receiver. I didn’t know I was going to come down one-handed, but I just tracked it all the way in. Yeah, that was pretty cool, man. I can’t lie.”

The highlight marked Hawkins’ second interception of the season, the first coming in a Week 1 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The 28-year-old had missed the last two games with a hamstring injury before returning on Sunday.

Hawkins tallied five tackles against the Browns, giving him 28 this season. Robert Spillane also picked off Gabriel earlier that quarter, and the Patriots followed each turnover with a touchdown en route to a 32-13 home win.

The Patriots will look to keep the big plays coming when they host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9.
