Three players Thomas Frank could drop for Tottenham's away trip to Everton - Opinion

0 8

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank could ring the changes at the weekend when he visits the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and we believe three players could be dropped from the Spurs starting XI.

Thomas Frank would be hoping Tottenham Hotspur can get a win on the board for the first time since the October international break as they remain winless.

This is a hectic period for Tottenham, who have several games coming thick and fast, but Frank and his side have not recorded a win since the start of the run.

Everton are up next for Spurs, and with the Lilywhites away from home, there could be some quiet optimism that a victory could well be earned, given Tottenham’s impressive away record this campaign.

With five games set to come in the space of two weeks, squad rotation is very important, and we have now attempted to predict three players who could be dropped against Everton.

Archie Gray likely to make way for Djed Spence

Archie Gray came into Frank’s side last time out against AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League, and he was very good in his performance.

It was his first start in Europe and also his first start as a full-back for Frank, and the youngster certainly looked eager to make an impression, doing so rather well.

However, we do expect to see him drop to the bench for Djed Spence, who could return as the left-back against David Moyes’ Everton, with Destiny Udogie still injured, according to Frank.

Lucas Bergvall failed to impress for Tottenham against AS Monaco

Lucas Bergvall definitely reduced his chances of featuring in back-to-back games with that rather subpar performance against AS Monaco.

The Swede was handed a runout as the number ten for Thomas Frank, with the Dane opting to bench Simons, and instead of taking his chance, Bergvall produced one of his poorest displays in a Tottenham shirt.

Spurs are still trying to find the right balance in the middle of the pitch, and that could see Frank opt for new personnel down there, with Simons and Pape Matar Sarr both remaining options for the Spurs boss.

Richarlison could lose his place to Mathys Tel or Randal Kolo Muani

Still on the theme of poor performances, we have Richarlison, who is without a goal in his last eight matches in all competitions.

The Brazil international started this season strongly, grabbing a few goals in Tottenham’s opening games, but those goals have since dried up.

His outing against AS Monaco was rather disappointing as he managed just one shot, which was blocked away. He could not hold up play or bring his teammates into the game, summing up what was a subpar display.

With Frank having Randal Kolo Muani and Mathys Tel as options, Richarlison could be set to sit out this clash against Everton.

The former Toffee does have a good record against his old side, having scored five goals in seven games when he has come up against them.

Whether that would be enough reason for Frank to stick with him remains to be seen, especially after the Tottenham boss revealed Kolo Muani’s chances of starting at the weekend.
