Juventus ask Tudor to ‘calm down’ after latest press-room outburst
Juventus have reportedly asked Igor Tudor to adjust his communication style after a series of increasingly tense press-conference outbursts, culminating in his surprise rant in Madrid this week.
According to reports from the Gazzetta dello Sport, the club’s hierarchy, including Damien Comolli, Giorgio Chiellini and François Modesto, were left unimpressed by the tone the coach used on the eve of the Real Madrid clash at the Bernabeu.
Tudor ambition nowhere to be seen at Juventus
It marks a sharp contrast from Tudor’s early weeks, when he energised the environment and spoke with ambition. Back in August, the coach had declared: “They say we will finish fourth, fifth or sixth – that is only a motivation. Juventus never start a season just to qualify for the Champions League.”
Now, however, the tone has shifted. In Madrid the Croatian argued that “if the analysis is that we are Juve and must always win, it is not a correct analysis,” while also complaining about referees and the fixture list.
Juventus fear Tudor attitude will impact squad
The club fear this rhetoric risks creating alibis for the squad rather than lifting the group during a negative run.
With Juve winless in seven, the message from Continassa is clear: less tension at the microphone, more solutions on the pitch.
