Lazio suffer fresh injury blow as Cancellieri forced off against Atalanta
Lazio’s injury woes continue to worsen after Matteo Cancellieri was forced off in the first half of the Biancocelesti’s trip to Atalanta.
The 23-year-old forward, who has been one of Maurizio Sarri’s best players in recent matches, appeared to suffer some injury to his left thigh.
In a report from Pazzidifanta.com, they suggest a flexor problem that could compound the club’s long list of injuries so far this season.
Cancellieri was replaced by Danish forward Gustav Isaksen against La Dea.
Cancellieri injury a scare for Lazio
So far this season, the 23-year-old has scored 3 goals in 5 Serie A matches, in a combined total of just 390 minutes.
After spending last season at Parma, the winger impressed in pre-season for Maurizio Sarri and used his performances as a platform to break into the Biancocelesti first team.
It came at a promising time for Sarri’s side, who faced a transfer embargo in the summer that prevented them from making any new signings.
