Inter celebration for Barella and Bonny: ‘Mentality makes a big difference’
Ange-Yoan Bonny and Nicolò Barella insist ‘mentality makes a big difference in this sport’ after Inter’s sixth straight win saw them break Roma.
This was a huge opportunity for both teams, who knew that Napoli had lost 1-0 to Torino earlier this evening.
It was Inter who took it, as Bonny sprung the offside trap early on from Barella’s assist to score the only goal at the Stadio Olimpico, putting them joint top of the Serie A table alongside Napoli and Roma.

“It is wonderful to score goals, we worked as a team today with a great spirit and are happy with these very important three points,” Bonny told Sky Sport Italia.
“I am learning every day from my teammates, we all work so hard and play our part.”
The mood in the Nerazzurri camp has been transformed by six consecutive victories between Serie A and the Champions League.
“Coming here and winning is not easy, so we want to credit Roma with their performance, but today we proved that we are a great team,” Barella told Sky Sport Italia.
“We lost intensity after the break, also due to fatigue from international duty, but we held on and take home the points.”
Over the next week, they will visit Union Saint-Gilloise in Europe, then face a head-to-head with Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
“I believe this team has always been strong, even during the difficult moments. Mentality makes a big difference in this sport, we needed to rediscover our confidence, and the coach set the example for us all. In his career, he experienced both disappointment and glory, so he was able to show us the way forward.”
