Patriots Promote Two Players From Practice Squad For Week 7 Battle
The New England Patriots have elevated two players from their practice squad to the active roster ahead of Week 7’s battle with the Tennessee Titans.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, “CB Miles Battle and RB Terrell Jennings have been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. Battle provides depth at CB and special teams with CB Charles Woods (knee) ailing. Jennings slots as the third RB behind Rhamondre Stevenson/TreVeyon Henderson, and No. 2 KR.”
Battle, 25, brings an intriguing blend of size and athleticism to the Patriots’ secondary. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 197 pounds, Battle hails from Houston, Texas, where he starred at Cypress Creek High School as a four-star wide receiver recruit. He began his collegiate career at Ole Miss from 2018 to 2022, initially playing receiver before switching to cornerback.
In 2023, he transferred to Utah, appearing in all 13 games and recording 32 tackles, three passes defensed, and an interception. Undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, Battle signed with New England as a rookie free agent and has been developing on the practice squad. His elevation offers a chance to contribute on defense and special teams.
Jennings, meanwhile, adds depth to the running back room at 24 years old. The 6-foot, 217-pound back was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and played college football at Florida A&M University.
Over 45 games in his Rattlers career, Jennings amassed 1,754 rushing yards on 381 carries with 24 touchdowns, plus 19 receptions for 163 yards and another score. In 2022 alone, he rushed for 308 yards on 73 attempts.
Like Battle, Jennings went undrafted in 2024 and joined the Patriots as a rookie free agent. His role as the third running back and No. 2 kick returner could prove vital if the game demands extra versatility in the backfield.
