NHL Power Rankings: Bruins Crack Top 10 After Hot Start
The Boston Bruins have skyrocketed to 10th on ESPN’s first in-season NHL Power Rankings for the 2025-26 campaign.
Boston opened the season as No. 22 on the list but have jumped to the edge of the top 10 with its 3-2-0 start to the year under first-year head coach Marco Sturm.
The Bruins are sixth in this week’s rankings among Eastern Conference teams, behind only the Carolina Hurricanes (No. 1), two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers (No. 5), Washington Capitals (No. 7), Montreal Canadiens (No. 8) and Detroit Red Wings (No. 9).
Boston is fourth on the list out of the eight Atlantic Division squads, trailing the Panthers, Canadiens and Red Wings.
Furthermore, David Pastrnak and company had the second-highest jump in the rankings in the entire NHL, behind only the Seattle Kraken, who went from 29th to 14th. The Bruins had the highest rise on the list among all Eastern Conference teams.
Boston opened the season with three straight wins before dropping its last two contests against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Vegas Golden Knights.
The Bruins will look to snap their skid on Saturday when the face the Colorado Avalanche on the road.
