Milan star Rafael Leao looking for first home goal in 17 months
Rafael Leao hasn’t scored a goal at San Siro for Milan since May 2024, in Stefano Pioli’s last game as the Rossoneri coach.
Milan star Leao will be looking for his first goal at home in almost one and a half years when the Diavoli host Fiorentina at San Siro on Sunday.
Rafael Leao’s latest goal at San Siro
The Portuguese scored his latest goal at San Siro on May 25, 2024, in a 3-3 draw against Salernitana in the final matchday of the 2023-24 campaign.
Ironically, on Sunday, Leao’s Milan will face their former coach Pioli, under whom the Portuguese netted his latest home goal in a Rossoneri shirt.
Leao has made two substitute appearances this season, having recently recovered from a calf injury he suffered in the first competitive match of the season, against Bari in Coppa Italia, on August 17.
Leao could start first Serie A game in 2025-26
Leao is expected to start his first Serie A game in 2025-26 on Sunday, while Christian Pulisic, the current Serie A top goal scorer, will be sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Fiorentina, on the other hand, will be looking for their first win in the league this season and will likely be forced to cope without their star striker, Moise Kean.
