Angelino diagnosis worse than predicted, but Bailey ready for Roma debut
There is mixed news from the Roma treatment room, as while Leon Bailey might finally be ready for his debut, Angelino’s problem is more serious than previously believed.
The Giallorossi went into the break for international duty as joint Serie A leaders along with Napoli, and are preparing for this weekend’s showdown with Inter.
Angelino and Bailey fitness updates for Roma
Bailey sustained a muscular injury in his very first training session following the transfer from Aston Villa and has only just returned to full work with the rest of the team.
It means he could be ready for his debut for the club on Saturday evening against Inter.
However, Angelino had missed the match against Fiorentina due to what was described at the time as flu symptoms.
It would now seem as if it is far more serious, as 10 days later he is still not working with the squad, with reports the diagnosis has been changed to asthmatic bronchitis.
This obviously affects the Brazilian’s ability to train and play, as it gives him breathing difficulties.
Roma have few alternatives in that role on the left, such as Kostas Tsimikas and Devyne Rensch.
