Milan expected to make successful January attempt for Liverpool defender
Joe Gomez has been struggling for playing time at Liverpool, and Milan are reportedly ready to make another attempt to sign him in January.
Milan will resume talks for Liverpool defender Gomez in the January transfer window, and according to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri’s new attempt will likely be successful given that the Reds’ defender has only played 119 minutes across all competitions this season.
Milan still interested in Gomez
Milan already opened talks for Gomez in the final days of the summer transfer window, but eventually failed to secure a deal with the defending Champions League winners.
The Rossoneri ended up signing 19-year-old David Odogu from Wolfsburg on deadline day, but according to the report, Massimiliano Allegri remains eager to get more reinforcement at the back for the second part of the campaign.
Allegri wants new defender in January
Calciomercato.com claims that Gomez is still a transfer target for Milan director Igli Tare, and the defender’s lack of playing time so far this season will make it easier for the Rossoneri to reach an agreement with Liverpool in the winter transfer window.
According to the report, Gomez isn’t Milan’s only target as the Serie A giants are also looking for potential reinforcements in France and Germany as they are willing to match Allegri’s demands.
