A very decent performance vs early season surprise package Bournemouth ultimately ended in a frustrating late draw.
With that being said most would have taken a draw to start with and it keeps our points ticking over nicely.
It doesn't get any easier though as next up are 4th placed Spurs who under new manager Thomas Frank have only suffered 1 defeat in 9 in all competitions and have a victory vs Man City in Manchester already.
However the only defeat did come against our last opponents Bournemouth (who battered Spurs) so reason for optimism.
And they weren't great last time out either vs struggling Wolves.
So no reason to not be hopeful, but Spurs are still a very decent side, experienced manager and good players.
Formation wise Thomas Frank favours a 4-3-3 on paper but he is tactically flexible and the full backs push on and it can become a back 3 in possession, a 4-2-3-1 and other variations.
They are a possession based team, they like to keep the ball and maintain possession but has been some criticism they can be too slow and safe at times.
But they rank 2nd for progressive passes in the league, they also aren't against long balls with 2nd most in the league.
They aren't a particular high pressing team but do use the midfield to swarm teams and rank high in midfield possession won stats.
And have defended solidly this season with the joint 2nd least conceded in the league.
In terms of key players.
New signing Mohammed Kudus has 3 assists and is very dangerous when running with the ball.
Striker Richarlison is a combative, mobile and hard working striker with good pace and an eye for goal (3 this season).
And Captain Cristian Romero is a World Cup winning walking yellow card, tough tackling, no nonsense Argentinian.
But with all that being said despite the decent start Spurs have struggled at times, they were poor vs Wolves last time out.
Bournemouth who we did well against gave them a battering and they were fortunate to only concede 1.
So they aren't invincible.
But they are clearly very capable of beating us.
In terms of ourselves DF rarely changes the starting 11 but different opponents present different challenges.
I can't think of any scenarios
Any changes?
And again, would a point suffice?
