San Siro Project – Inter & Milan announce agreement with architectural firms
Inter and Milan have signed an agreement with architectural firms Foster + Partners and MANICA to design the new stadium for the two clubs.
In a statement published on Inter’s official website, the Nerazzurri confirmed the agreement and welcomed the two firms for their contributions on the new 71,500 capacity stadium proposal.
Inter describe it as “a strategic investment for the future and a tangible sign of commitment to the city of Milano, its history and its cultural, architectural and sporting heritage.”
Crunch week for San Siro project as Milan City Council set to decide
The next week will be pivotal in the future of the Milan clubs’ new stadium project.
On Thursday, Milan City Council will meet at the chamber of Palazzo Marino, to discuss the specific details of the new stadium to replace San Siro.
Then, next Monday, the council will reconvene and vote on whether or not the sale of the current stadium and surrounding land will be approved or not.
Once the sale has been approved, the two clubs can push forward with the project, freshly armed with architectural partners to proceed with development.
