Nuno Tavares leaves Olimpico during Rome Derby and risks a fine
La Repubblica reports that Lazio could fine their defender Nuno Tavares, who left the Stadio Olimpico during the Rome Derby on Sunday, as he had been subbed off during the break.
Lazio could fine their defender Tavares as the ex-Arsenal full-back left the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday during the Derby della Capitale against Roma.
Nuno Tavares risks being fined by Lazio
The Portuguese defender had been subbed off during the halftime break, having made a fatal error leading to Roma’s winning goal in the first half.
The reports claim Tavares left the stadium mid-match after showering in the Biancocelesti dressing room.
Therefore, he could be fined by the club, which is already dealing with a poor start to the season with just three points in the opening four league rounds.
Nuno Tavares has started his second season at Lazio, but hasn’t yet scored or assisted in four Serie A games so far.
The 25-year-old provided nine assists in 30 games under Marco Baroni last season.
What Sarri said about Nuno Tavares’ mistake
“We lost the game because of a bad error. We’ll see if it’s a technical mistake or if he was superficial. We played a good game, but we lost it this way. We are sorry for our fans. They supported us. I’m sorry for the team too, they didn’t deserve to lose,” Sarri said in a post-match interview with DAZN Italia.
