Bruno Fernandes responds to £26m Man Utd star after what he did on Thurs
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was impressed with Marcus Rashford after his delightful showing for Barcelona against Newcastle United in the Champions League.
Rashford was picked in the starting line-up by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, and he had a quiet opening half against the Magpies at St James’ Park on Thursday evening.
However, the England international stepped up after the break. He opened the scoring from a lovely counter-attack before slamming home his second goal from long range.
Fernandes was certainly impressed by the United graduate. He instantly reacted on Instagram stories with a three-word emoji, expressing his surprise over the sublime strike.

Rashford signed for the Blaugrana on a season-long loan deal over the summer. The Catalan giants have confirmed that they have an option to buy him for £26 million at the end of the campaign.
The 27-year-old certainly made a big impression in front of goal yesterday despite unconvincing statistics. Starting from the right wing, Rashford did not win any of his four dribbles on the night.
He won just three duels out of nine contested and lost possession on 21 occasions. Despite this, the versatile ace left Tyneside on a high with his first two goals in Barcelona’s colours.
England head coach Thomas Tuchel was in the stands watching the game. Rashford could be in contention for Three Lions selection next month if he can sustain the ongoing club form.
United, on the other hand, could benefit from Rashford’s displays in the long run. If he can make many more goal contributions, the Blaugrana should sign him for £26m, which will be pure profit for United under the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
