Champions League: Manchester City vs. Napoli – probable line-ups and where to watch on TV
Kevin De Bruyne returns to the Etihad Stadium with Napoli tonight, making his Champions League debut with the Partenopei against Gigio Donnarumma’s Manchester City.
It kicks off at 21:00 CET (20:00 BST) at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
De Bruyne left City just three months ago, joining Napoli on a free transfer, and reunites with his former club tonight.
The Belgian ace will start in the middle of the park alongside Frank Anguissa and Stanislav Lobotka, with Matteo Politano and Scott McTominay on the wings in Antonio Conte’s 4-1-4-1 system.
Ex-Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund will start up front for the defending Serie A champions.
Italian sources, including Sky Sport Italia, claim that the Partenopei have only two line-up doubts: Alex Meret or Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in goal and Leonardo Spinazzola or Mathías Olivera in the left-back position.
Meret missed Saturday’s Serie A game against Fiorentina due to a minor injury, but has now recovered and has travelled with the rest of the team.
Some familiar faces are set to start for Manchester City, especially Italy captain Gigio Donnarumma and ex-Milan star Tijjani Reijnders, both making their Champions League debut with the Premier League giants.
