Juventus injury update after victory over Inter & ahead of Dortmund Champions League test
Juventus fought back from a 3-2 deficit with ten minutes left to emerge 4-3 victors against Inter in Saturday evening’s Derby d’Italia.
The Bianconeri initially led but allowed Inter to get back into the game through a brace from Hakan Calhanoglu and a goal from Marcus Thuram to put the Nerazzurri into the lead.
Juventus’ next game sees them welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Allianz Stadium in Tuesday’s Champions League opener.
Cambiaso returns for Juventus as new boy Zhegrova confirmed out
Juventus will be bolstered by the return of wing-back Andrea Cambiaso, who has served a two-game suspension in Serie A.
He will now be available for selection again and Igor Tudor may choose to utilise the Italian immediately against Dortmund.
Meanwhile, deadline day signing Edon Zhegrova is confirmed to miss the match.
Zhegrova hasn’t played an official match since December 2024 after suffering from groin pain and related issues.
Although the issues have been resolved, CalcioMercato report, he needs to work to recover his strength and stamina before Tudor is ready to involve him in a match.
Miretti and Conceicao remain doubtful for Juventus
Fabio Miretti remains doubtful for the game against Dortmund.
The central midfielder suffered an injury in the Bianconeri’s pre-season friendly against Juventus Next Gen. Today, Miretti was involved in individual training and therefore it would appear unlikely he will feature against Dortmund.
It is a similar story for Portuguese winger Francisco Conceicao.
The forward went to join his national teammates during the international break but suffered a slight muscle strain and returned to Turin.
Conceicao missed yesterday’s Derby d’Italia and remains a doubt for the club’s Champions League opener on Tuesday.
