NFL Rumors: Patriots Rival Has ‘No Plans’ To Trade Star Player
The Miami Dolphins enter a Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots amid speculation about a midseason teardown.
Conversations about Tyreek Hill’s future have resurfaced after Miami’s offense faltered in a Week 1 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Saturday that the Dolphins have “no plans” to trade the All-Pro wide receiver.
Furthermore, nobody has called the Dolphins about Hill.
Hill indicated a desire to leave Miami after last season’s Week 18 loss to the New York Jets. The wideout told reporters: “I’m out, bruh. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for my career.”
Hill walked back those comments and confirmed his commitment to the Dolphins during the offseason. Yet he was seen visibly frustrated on the sidelines during last Sunday’s 33-8 loss to the Colts, during which he tallied 40 yards on four catches.
The speedster cleared 1,700 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons in Miami and is one of the league’s most prolific playmakers. Off-field concerns may still deter teams from inquiring about the 31-year-old.
The NFL is currently investigating new accusations of domestic violence against Hill by his estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro. Divorce filings obtained by TMZ detailed eight alleged incidents, claiming Hill spat on Vaccaro and got physical with her during her pregnancy.
The court documents claim Hill “violently attacked her, throwing her to the floor, twisting her intimate body parts, ripping her hair out and grabbing anything on her person he could get a hold of” in January 2024. Hill, who pleaded guilty to strangling his then-pregnant girlfriend in 2015, denied Vaccaro’s accusations.
Hill accused his ex-fiancée, Crystal Espinal, of lying about those assault accusations during his college years. Espinal claimed he broke their three-year-old son’s arm in an audio argument leaked in 2019 in which Hill told Espinal, “You need to be terrified of me.”
