Harry Redknapp predicts West Ham vs Tottenham London derby result

0 80

Tottenham Hotspur fans will love Harry Redknapp’s prediction on the upcoming London derby against West Ham.

The stage is set for the first London derby of the Thomas Frank era, as Tottenham Hotspur gear up for a clash against West Ham United at the London Stadium.

This will mark Frank’s fourth game at the helm as Tottenham manager, and the Dane will be desperate to guide his side back to winning ways following the slip-up against Bournemouth last weekend, where Spurs fell to a 1-0 defeat.

West Ham United, however, will not be straightforward opponents, with Graham Potter’s men ending a run of two straight defeats by convincingly beating Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest 3-0 in their most recent outing.

Harry Redknapp makes Tottenham prediction for West Ham clash

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has given his verdict on how he sees the derby unfolding, and speaking to BetVictor, he made it clear that he expects a tightly contested game but fancies Spurs to edge it.

Redknapp said: “What a massive win that was for West Ham at Forest, and for Potter. I think he was under real pressure had they lost but what a performance that was. I just hope they can build on this.

“I was shocked Spurs lost at home to Bournemouth, I did not see that coming at all. It has been such a great start to the season for them and that dampens it just a little bit.”

“I think this will be an even game; these London derbies always are. I think Spurs edge it though. One to watch – it has got to be Kudus here, he has been fantastic for Spurs so far and I do not think he left West Ham on the best of terms.”

Score prediction: West Ham 1-2 Spurs

Spurs debut for Xavi Simons could light up the derby

Beyond the battle for London bragging rights, Saturday’s clash could also see the debut of new Tottenham signing Xavi Simons.

The Dutch international has yet to make a competitive appearance in a Spurs shirt, but with Thomas Frank looking to add extra creativity in midfield, the 22-year-old could be handed his first minutes at the London Stadium.

Simons’ first training sessions at Hotspur Way have already caught the eye, and many Tottenham fans believe Simons has all the tools to thrive in N17, with a strong display against West Ham set to be the perfect way to announce himself to the Premier League.
