Patriots Coach Addresses Terrell Williams Health Situation
The New England Patriots may be without multiple key players in Week 2 vs. the Miami Dolphins.
The team is also closely monitoring an ongoing health situation surrounding defensive coordinator Terrell Williams.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said on Wednesday that Williams would be spending a few days away from the squad as he undergoes testing.
Inside linebackers coach Zak Kuhr discussed the situation on Thursday.
“I’m not going to really comment about Terrell (Williams) right now out of respect for him and his family. But our prayers are with him and his family,” Kuhr said, as relayed by ESPN’s Mike Reiss on Bluesky. “He means the world to me. I challenge anybody to find a better man, better dad, better coach, better friend, better mentor. But I’m always thinking about him and what he means to this team.”
The Patriots hired Williams in January, giving the longtime college and NFL defensive line coach his first coordinating gig.
The 51-year-old initially returned to the team in late July following an offseason medical scare before being forced to exit an early August practice due to dehydration.
Williams and Vrabel worked together for six years with the Tennessee Titans with the former serving as the team’s defensive line coach and the latter leading as head coach.
