FULL BACK LOOK-A-LIKES
Damn guys and girls, I show a bit of vulnerability on the last post and no one comments? Sheesh… I guess all you really want from this space is Madueke fee conspiracies and male pattern baldness treatment recommendations?
Let’s get back to Arsenal.
Or Edu, to be more precise.
He’s taken the big job at Nottingham Forest. The man landed the role largely off the back of the work Jason Ayto did for him… now he’s at the controls, without someone football smart to support, and he’s making moves like he was when Don Raul was at the club.
Just before Arsenal welcome Forest, Edu has fired Nuno. Can you believe that? NunoBall brought Forest one of the best seasons they’ve had in 30 years. Edu’s response? Upset the manager, then fire him… and replace him with the guy who spent £300m at Spurs and took them to 17th last season.
Simply astonishing.
Not as astonishing as watching him lean into Kia’s network to bring Omari Hutchinson to Forest for £37.5m, only to have him excluded from Europa League action.
But Ange potentially has new manager bounce ability… so we have to be careful. I’ve never seen the stat for the club that has the most new manager bounce games, but we have to be up there?
But we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. This is a squad that dropped 3 points to a dreadful West Ham team and conceded three goals in the process. They are there to be beaten and after the Liverpool loss we need to do some damage.
I’m no scout, you know that, right? But I am a vocal ignoramus with a website people read, so I’m gonna unload some heat on Piero Hincapié after he played left back against Argentina.
He looks good, doesn’t he?
That’s all I got.
Just jokes. My view, after watching that video TWO times, is this: Have Arsenal tried to create look-a-likes on both sides?
We have Myles and Timber, who have similar games.
Now, I think we have a left-back who looks very similar in style to Ben White. He’s aggressive and a bit of a shit-houser. He can play centrally. He’s tall by full-back standards. He’s fast in short bursts. He has a GREAT range of passing. And he’s good on the overlap.
Ecuadorian players have a very strong physical profile, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how he does at Arsenal.
Damn, we have a fine squad this season.
Talking of full-backs, Myles Lewis-Skelly was left out of the 23-man squad by Tuchel. The reason was ‘tactical’ and ‘physical,’ which is a little concerning to hear about a player who has played very little football this season, but I guess that’s the rub with young players.
England drubbed Serbia. I don’t know what it means to drub, but to my mind, it’s a big beating.
The analysis:
Declan assist for Harry Kane from a set piece.
Madueke SURGING goal from the right.
Declan second assist for Guehi from a free kick.
Two Arsenal players making a BIG impact across two games for their country. Can’t be a bad thing? The Madueke goal combined outrageous pace, a beautiful cut inside from the right to nullify a chasing full-back, and a well-timed finish. We need this for Arsenal at the weekend.
You know what else we need out here in America? Arsenal, a foreign club in a country with a trade deficit, picking up the tab for tariffs.
Gonna buy me a $400 vase RIGHT NOW. Good on you, Arsenal.
Ok, I don’t have much else. Let’s end it there. Before the Whistle for the members lands later. x
