Dev Squad To Face Spartans At Ainslie Park

The Hibernian Development Squad continue their KDM Evolution Trophy campaign with a short trip to Ainslie Park to face Spartans. 

The match will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday 6 September in Pilton – full details below!

THE LOWDOWN

The Dev Squad are looking to pick up their first win in the KDM Evolution Trophy in what is their third league phase fixture.

A narrow opening matchday defeat to Forfar Athletic at Station Park was followed up by a 3-1 loss at Forthbank Stadium two weekends ago.

Young forward Rudi Molotnikov would pull the wee Hibees back level after going behind to Stirling Albion, but two second-half goals for the hosts settled the tie. 

THE HOSTS

Douglas Samuel’s side placed fifth in William Hill League Two last season, finishing just three points shy of a promotion play-off spot. 

The Edinburgh club have made an impressive start to the new campaign in the fourth tier, and currently sit second in the division after winning four and losing just once in their opening five league matches.

Spartans are five points clear of third-place Stirling Albion and level at the top with East Kilbride following their 1-0 home win over Annan Athletic last weekend.

The Dev Squad will take on Spartans at 3pm on Saturday 6 September at Ainslie Park.
