Queen’s Park face St Johnstone WFC on Sunday, 31st August in matchday 3 of the SWPL2 season at McDiarmid Park, Perth. Kick-off is at 3pm.
The Spiders travel to the east coast full of confidence after securing a 6-0 win against Livingston last weekend at Kirkintilloch CSC. St Johnstone will be looking to back up their 4-2 win against East Fife last weekend.
As well as Queen’s getting their first win of the season, it was also The Saints’ first victory of the 25/26 season, meaning the teams are locked together in the table with Queen’s leading on goal difference.
As well as being buoyed by last weekend’s result, Head Coach Iain Robinson has confirmed that the full Spiders squad is back to full fitness, with Charlize McFadyen and goalkeeper Jasmine McPhee both available for selection, having made appearances last week.
League form coming into the game:
St Johnstone —LW
Queen’s Park —LW
Speaking ahead of the match, Iain Robinson said, “We’re wanting to build on last week’s impressive display. I thought we created a high number of quality chances and were clinical in the right moments.
“Few areas and things that we can improve on that we’ve spoken about, and based training on, so hoping to see continual improvement from the group.”
“St Johnstone are a team that try to play and have a number of excellent individuals within their squad.
“From watching footage of their opening games, they can pose a threat in a number of ways, particularly set pieces. So it’s something we’ll need to be aware of tomorrow.”
