NFL All-Time QB Rank No. 25: Eli Manning

Ranking the top 50 quarterbacks in NFL history…

25. Eli Manning

Drafted first overall by the San Diego Chargers in 2004 out of Ole Miss but immediately traded to the New York Giants for Philip Rivers and picks, Manning spent his entire 16-year career with the Giants, becoming synonymous with clutch performances despite ups and downs.

Manning took over as starter mid-rookie year in 2004, leading New York to four playoff appearances in his first decade. His defining moments came in Super Bowls: In 2007, he engineered a 17-14 upset over the undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, throwing for 255 yards and two touchdowns — including the iconic David Tyree “Helmet Catch” drive — earning MVP.

Four years later, in Super Bowl XLVI, Manning outdueled Tom Brady again 21-17, passing for 296 yards and a touchdown, securing another MVP with a late game-winning drive.

Over 236 games (234 starts), Manning totaled 57,023 passing yards, 366 touchdowns and 244 interceptions with a 60.3 percent completion rate).

Manning earned four Pro Bowl selections (2008, 2011-12, 2015) and holds Giants records for yards, touchdowns and wins (117-117 record). He led the NFL in interceptions three times but orchestrated 37 fourth-quarter comebacks, including 44 game-tying or go-ahead touchdown passes in the final period.

Manning’s standout attributes were his durability—starting 210 consecutive games from 2004-17—and composure under pressure. His even-keeled demeanor masked a fierce competitor. He also excelled in no-huddle offenses.

But who ranks ahead of Manning at No. 24 all-time?
