Report Inter turned down Chelsea and Newcastle approaches for Bastoni and Frattesi
Inter could part ways with a number of first-team players before the end of the summer transfer window, but have no interest in parting company with either Alessandro Bastoni nor Davide Frattesi, despite reported approaches from Chelsea and Newcastle this summer.
Inter are aiming to raise around €30m-€35m through the sales of Kristjan Asllani to Bologna and Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta.
The Nerazzurri are also aiming to bring in a new defender this summer, but that is a case of one in, one out – or rather one out, one in. Recent reports claim that Benjamin Pavard is the most likely Nerazzurri defender to be sacrificed in order to make way for new additions.
These are not the only Inter players who have had interest from other clubs this summer, though.
Gazzetta: Inter turned down EPL approaches for Bastoni and Frattesi
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Premier League heavy-spenders Chelsea had been prepared to offer a fee in the region of €50m to sign Italy international Bastoni this summer, however, Inter ‘politely declined’ the approach, as they have no intention of letting the two-time Champions League finalist go.
It is a similar situation with Frattesi, who looks set for his third season in San Siro in 2025-26. The former Sassuolo midfielder has suitors in Newcastle United according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Sunday’s report claims that Newcastle’s proposal was sent back, but it is not yet entirely out of the question that the Magpies could come back in with an improved offer before the end of the summer transfer window.
