"Not ready": Unwanted Man United star turns down another exit move but club still have a few options

0 10

Manchester United star Jadon Sancho has turned down a move to Turkish giants Besiktas, according to Sky reporter Patrick Berger.

The England international has struggled to find a suitable club so far, but is still choosing to keep his options open as the summer transfer window reaches its home stretch.

The 25-year-old has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and is one of a handful of players United are desperate to cash in on this summer.

However, it has been a bumpy ride so far. Sancho has been on the radar of several clubs across Europe, yet he hasn’t been able to secure an exit.

Besiktas were the latest to throw their hat in the ring. Turkish clubs have made it a habit of signing underperforming Premier League stars over the past few years, and Sancho would have been the latest.

The club’s president, Serdal Adali, even went public with his desire to bring Sancho to Istanbul. However, the former Chelsea loanee isn’t interested in pursuing a move to Turkey for now.

Sanch wants to join a big team within Europe’s top five leagues, and he has a few options.

Clubs in Italy have explored a deal, but nothing concrete has come out of it, with the likes of AS Roma and Inter Milan put off by his ridiculous wage demands.

Interest in Sancho has also come from Juventus and Borussia Dortmund, though talks with his former club have cooled in recent weeks.

Sancho’s situation at Old Trafford has been bleak for some time.

Alongside other unwanted players, including Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia, he has been told by manager Ruben Amorim that he has no future at the club.

Last season’s loan spell at Chelsea brought flashes of his old form as he racked up five goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

He even scored in their Europa Conference League final win over Real Betis. But he couldn’t get a permanent move to Stamford Bridge due to his wage demands.

Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was hoping to reunite with Sancho in Istanbul, but he may have to look elsewhere for now.
