Injury expert gives worrying update on Dejan Kulusevski’s Tottenham return
An injury expert has made a worrying prediction about Dejan Kulusevski’s Tottenham rehabilitation, suggesting that we might not see the Swede back in action until the end of this calendar year.
James Maddison has already been ruled out for the majority of the upcoming season after suffering an ACL injury during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle in South Korea.
The injury puts Thomas Frank in a difficult situation as reports indicate that the only other number ten in the Tottenham squad, Dejan Kulusevski, is expected to miss the first month of the Premier League season.
When pressed on the Swede injury, Frank said a few days ago that Kulusevski is “out for a long time”, and a new update has now suggested that it might be a while before we see the former Juventus man on the field again.
Dejan Kulusevski could be missing from Tottenham XI for a while
This update comes from Physio Scout, who often provide great analysis on injuries across the Premier League, and they have given an update about the Tottenham man, which is not encouraging.
They claim that Kulusevski likely suffered a patella fracture after his knee-to-knee collision with Marc Guehi back in May.
While the typical recovery time from the injury is around five to eight months after surgery, they say that it can take eight to 10 months if it is a complicated injury.
Based on the noises coming out of Tottenham Hotspur, Physio Scout predicts that Kulusevski may not return until November or December.
Spurs fans are baffled by Tottenham’s inaction in the transfer market
Given the injuries to Maddison and Kulusevski, many Spurs fans are baffled that Tottenham have not signed an attacking midfielder so far this summer.
Several Premier League number tens have been linked with moves to Spurs over recent weeks, but the Lilywhites do not appear close to finalising a signing at the moment.
With the new Premier League season now on the horizon, the North London club are running out of time and would need to have a strong finish to the transfer window.
