Milan double done deal for De Winter and Athekame
Milan have reportedly finalised the details for two new signings, Koni De Winter from Genoa for €20m, and Young Boys defender Zachary Athekame for €10m.
The Rossoneri have been very active over the last few days as they try to reconstruct the squad to suit new coach Max Allegri.
That includes the sale of Malick Thiaw to Newcastle United for circa €40m, which is reinvested in several new buys.
Milan secure two new defenders
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport this evening, Milan received the all clear for both De Winter and Athekame, so their medicals are scheduled for the next 24-48 hours.
Genoa defender De Winter can arrive for circa €18m plus €2m in add-ons, with his former club Juventus receiving 20-25 per cent of that fee.
He will sign a five-year contract worth €1.8m per season.
Meanwhile, full-back Athekame is sold by Swiss team Young Boys for €10m including performance-related bonuses and a rumoured 10 per cent cut of the future profit, not the whole fee.
It is reported that a club in France offered more, but the player only wanted Milan.
