LSU Football Player Arrested, Linked To Murder Investigation

0 4

An LSU football player turned himself in to authorities last week after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant was issued in relation to a murder investigation, and the player has been charged as an accessory for allowing the suspects to stay in his dorm.

Running back JT Lindsey turned himself in and has been suspended from the LSU Tigers football team indefinitely. Shemell Jacobs and Keldrick Jordan, the two murder suspects, were arrested last Monday at an LSU dorm by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Jacobs and Jordan were wanted in connection with the alleged murder of a 17-year-old back in May in the city of Alexandria, Louisiana.

Kris Perret, an attorney for Lindsey, maintains that their client was not aware that Jacobs and Jordan were murder suspects while they stayed at his dorm.

LSU told People that Lindsey is "currently suspended from team activities."

“We are aware and won’t have any comment out of respect for the legal process."

According to CBS Sports, authorities found several weapons inside the dorm when Jacobs and Jordan were arrested, including multiple AR-15 rifles.

The warrant for Lindsey's arrest asserts that he was not only aware of Jacobs and Jordan's status as fugitives, but that he “knowingly harbored and aided" them.

Lindsey entered LSU as a four-star prospect, according to 247Sports. He was ranked as the No. 4 high school football in the state of Louisiana, and the No. 7 running back nationally among his class.

Lindsey is part of another strong recruiting class for LSU and head coach Brian Kelly. 247Sports gave the Tigers the No. 7 overall recruting class rank in 2025, suggesting that a talented crop of incoming freshmen is heading to Baton Rouge.

The Tigers are looking to make it back to the College Football Playoff for the first time since the 2019 season. That year, they put together a magical undefeated campaign behind stars like quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.

The Tigers haven't been back to the playoff since winning it all, but they'll look to make their way into the tournament at the end of the 2025 season.

As for Lindsey, we'll see what happens as he continues to face legal trouble ahead of the start of his college football career.
