Morrison: We're Itching For The Season To Start
Hibs Women forward Kirsty Morrison states the team are "itching for the season to start" following Sunday's 4-0 victory over Durham.
The dominant performance against the strong English Women's Super League 2 club was a great end to the girls' pre-season campaign ahead of the 2025/26 ScottishPower Women's Premier League season.
Morrison assisted Hannah Jordan's opener - which opened the floodgates following an even start to proceedings at Meadowbank Stadium - and is delighted with both the result and performance on show.
"I think we knew it was going to be a tough match, but that's what we wanted.
"Going into the season starting next week, we wanted a challenge and I think we proved ourselves today in a really good result against a tough team.
"I think we played really well as a team. We were a wee bit slow in the first half in some aspects, but in the second half especially, I thought we came out flying.
"Even when subs were made, we still continued to keep that high level of performance throughout the 90 minutes, which is something we're really pleased with."
The attacker, who came through the Hibs Academy, signed a new two-year deal in the summer following Hibs Women's title success last season.
Morrison played 26 times across the campaign, scoring four important goals, and is now thrilled to head into the new season following a successful pre-season.
"We had a really successful year last year, so I was looking forward to signing on and signing two years.
"I've got a little bit of comfort and security, so I'm looking forward to the next two years and really excited for it.
"We've had a tough few weeks of pre-season, we've been working hard a lot behind the scenes, had a good few games and obviously our trip away to Florida, which I think helped massively.
"I think we're all ready, itching for the season to start and get the games underway. We're looking forward to next week."
