Tottenham could land creative midfielder for just £22m in ‘easy deal to get done’

0 10

Ben Jacobs has said that a deal for an attacking midfielder on Tottenham’s wishlist will be straightforward for the North London club to complete, but other Premier League sides are also interested.

Since it emerged that James Maddison is expected to miss much of the upcoming season with an ACL injury, a host of attacking midfielders have been mooted as targets for Spurs.

One of those is Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, following the Foxes’ relegation from the top flight.

Spurs fans are divided over a move for El Khannouss, but a journalist has now confirmed that the Moroccan very much remains an option for the Lilywhites.

Bilal El Khannouss would be ‘easy’ for Tottenham to sign

It has now been revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs that El Khannouss is indeed on Spurs’ list, with the North Londoners contemplating whether or not to make an approach for him.

He revealed that the 21-year-old can be signed for just £22m, but asserted that Leeds have been the only side to launch an enquiry for the youngster so far.

Speaking about Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer targets, Jacobs said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast: “I hear one is Bilal El Khannouss, Leeds are the only team in the Premier League to have made a formal enquiry.

“West Ham and Tottenham have considered doing so; it’s a relatively easy deal to get done. You’ll see reports out there saying Leicester want a fee in excess of £25m. That’s not true to my understanding, Bilal El Khannouss has a relegation release clause that can be triggered €26m, which is about £22m.”

Who are the other number tens on Spurs’ radar?

Reports over recent days have indicated that Tottenham launched an enquiry for Jack Grealish immediately after Maddison’s injury.

It was previously reported that Grealish prefers a move to Spurs over joining West Ham or Everton, who are the two other Premier League sides thought to be circling over the Man City star.

Meanwhile, Harvey Elliott continues to be heavily linked with a move to Tottenham. It has even been asserted that Thomas Frank is ready to offer the number ten role to the Liverpool man to convince him to come to N17.
