Sources: PSG open to offload Champions League winner amid Liverpool & Man United interest
Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos is attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the world this summer.
The Portuguese striker has seen his starting spot in the team taken away by manager Luis Enrique and due to his limited playing time, he is looking for a move away from the Champions League winning side.
Despite joining PSG for €65 million in 2023, the Portuguese international has struggled to cement his place in the starting lineup, often finding himself on the bench behind the club’s more established attacking options.
The striker still managed to score 19 goals for the French club last season.
Goncalo Ramos is wanted by top European clubs
Sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside that Ramos’ lack of consistent playing time has alerted several Premier League and Serie A sides who see a golden opportunity to pounce on a proven goal scorer.
English clubs Newcastle United, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Liverpool are all assessing the possibility of a summer move.
Liverpool, in particular, are believed to be considering Ramos as a potential long-term addition. Meanwhile, Man United continue to evaluate forward options and see Ramos as a possible alternative if other striker pursuits stall.
The Reds are prioritising a move for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak but if they fail in their pursuit, they may target a move for PSG’s Ramos. Similarly, United’s number one target is Benjamin Sesko and Ramos is considered as an alternative option.
Liverpool and Man United face competition from Italy
In Serie A, both Juventus and Napoli have added Ramos to their shortlist. Napoli are planning for life after Victor Osimhen, while Juventus are reshaping their front line under new management. For both Italian clubs, Ramos is a player who comes with a proven record and pedigree.
Paris Saint-Germain are open to a sale but reluctant to take a financial hit. They remain open to negotiating a loan deal with an option to buy, particularly if it helps preserve Ramos’ long-term market value. However, any permanent transfer would need to come close to the original €65 million fee paid to Benfica.
