Sources: Chelsea lead race for ‘really talented’ star as Man United uncertainty grows

0 9

Alejandro Garnacho’s future at Manchester United is under serious doubt as internal tensions and transfer market pressure continue to mount.

The 21-year-old Argentine winger, once viewed as a key figure in United’s long-term plans, has fallen out of favour under new head coach Ruben Amorim, leading to growing speculation over a summer exit.

Garnacho’s relationship with Amorim has soured following disagreements behind the scenes, leading to his reduced role in the squad during pre-season preparations.

Man United lower Alejandro Garnacho price

As a result, United’s stance on a potential transfer has softened. While the club initially valued the winger at €80 million, they are now looking to make around €50-60 million from his sale, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.

The young winger scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists for the Red Devils last season.

However, United remain firm that no deal will go through until a new striker is signed.

Chelsea have emerged as the most serious contender to secure Garnacho’s services. The Blues have already conducted thorough background checks.

Garnacho himself is said to favour a move to a Premier League side competing in the Champions League, placing Chelsea in a favourable position. Tottenham have also shown interest, but their pursuit lacks the urgency seen from Stamford Bridge club.

Other major European clubs like Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Napoli have been monitoring the situation, but Garnacho’s preference to stay in England has made those options less likely at this stage.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce have initiated early contact to explore the feasibility of a shock move to Istanbul but the Turkish giants face stiff competition and a clear disadvantage in terms of player preference and European pedigree.

United have opened informal talks with Aston Villa regarding a potential swap deal involving striker Ollie Watkins but Garnacho is focused on staying in the Premier League at a top-tier club and prefers a move to Chelsea.

Man United boss Amorim has praised Garnacho by calling him a ‘really talented’ player.

Amorim has just introduced a new rule which could leave Man United stars red-faced
