Grealish urged to join Everton amid Napoli links
Napoli-linked Jack Grealish should remain in the Premier League and join Everton to revive his career, according to Gareth Barry.
Grealish is not part of Pep Guardiola’s plans at Manchester City and was omitted from the Club World Cup squad earlier this summer.
Conte still waiting for one winger in Napoli
The England international spent part of his summer holidays in the Amalfi Coast, near Naples, fuelling speculation of a move to the Stadio Maradona, where Antonio Conte is waiting to welcome one more winger.
The latest report from Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Grealish is the main option for Napoli, although Federico Chiesa and Raheem Sterling are also on the Partenopei’s radars.
Former England international Barry, however, believes Grealish should remain in England and join Everton to revive his career.
The ex-midfielder made precisely the same move over ten years ago, switching from Manchester City to Everton.
Barry urges Grealish to join Everton
“Yes, if I were sitting in Jack’s shoes, I’d be wanting to go out there and prove everyone wrong,” Barry said via Liverpool Echo.
“People are starting to write him off a little bit. He’ll be thinking he can still get in the England squad if he can play regular football, and that’s exactly what I’d be thinking. So, for me, Everton would be a good move.”
Napoli have already completed six signings so far this summer, including Dutch winger Noa Lang and Italian centre-forward Lorenzo Lucca.
