Report: Roma will not land Manchester City talent Echeverri
Reports in the UK claim that Manchester City talent Claudio Echeverri will not be joining Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma on loan for the 2025-26 season, as he has more suitable options in France and Spain.
Roma unlikely to sign Man City youngster Echeverri
Reports from Gianlca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia earlier in the week suggested that 18-year-old Echeverri, who was handed his Man City debut in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace in May, was among the candidates to join Roma’s attacking department this summer.
Echeverri, Wolves-owned Fabio Silva and Chelsea’s Marc Guiu have all been linked with moves to join the Giallorossi this week.
However, as per MailOnline, Echeverri is ‘not expecting’ to join Roma this transfer window.
Wednesday’s report confirms that the Argentine talent is likely to leave Man City on loan this window, but that sister club Girona, who are also owned by City Football Group, as well as Ligue 1 side Lyon are among the more likely destinations.
