Man United Vs Bournemouth: Pre-season preview, where to watch, key players

0 12

Manchester United face AFC Bournemouth in their second Premier League Summer Series fixture on Thursday morning at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Red Devils won their first game against West Ham United, marking their first pre-season win.

Similarly, Bournemouth recorded a victory in their opening game of the competition, beating Everton 3-0. They lead the standings on goal difference.

Match preview

Manager Ruben Amorim will be hoping that his side can build on the victory they recorded against the Hammers.

The Portuguese coach is expected to field a strong side, which could include new signing Matheus Cunha, who has impressed in his first two games.

Fellow summer arrival, Bryan Mbeumo, will miss out but could return for the final game against Everton at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday.

Youngsters Diego Leon, Tyler Fredricson, Chido Obi, Toby Collyer and Jack Fletcher came off the bench against the Hammers. It remains to be seen whether any of them will start against Bournemouth.

Bournemouth finished in their highest-ever position in the Premier League last season but have now been decimated with the departures of several key players.

Dean Huijsen has joined Real Madrid, and Milos Kerkez has completed a move to Liverpool. At the same time, Kepa Arrizabalaga has also moved on, following the expiration of his loan term with the club.

They could also lose centre-back Illia Zabarnyi before the end of the transfer window.

The Cherries have signed left-back Adrien Truffert from Ligue 1 side Rennes and ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.

How to watch

Subscribers of the MUTV can watch the game live via ManUtd.com or through the United App, except US-based subscribers.

Key players

Man United

Bruno Fernandes: He bagged a brace against West Ham and will be hoping to build on that momentum against Andoni Iraola’s side.

Matheus Cunha: The Brazilian has impressed in his first two games. A goal against the Cherries would further enhance his confidence.

Bournemouth

Antoine Semenyo: The Ghanaian was linked with United this summer before he signed a contract extension. He was a substitute against Everton but could start this clash.

Dango Ouattara: The 23-year-old was a key player for the Cherries last season and was on the scoresheet against the Toffees.
