Como president provides update on move for Milan forward Alvaro Morata
Como president Mirwan Suwarso has revealed that his club have “reached an agreement with Milan” and Alvaro Morata about a potential transfer but the Rossoneri “and Galatasaray need to talk, we have done what he had to do.”
Speaking to SkySport, Suwarso also commented on the success of the ‘Como Cup’ pre-season tournament, “the goal was to engage all the tourists as well, to help people realise that there is a football team in Como and to show everyone the very best of it.”
Morata future hangs in balance as Como wait for Milan and Galatasaray
Morata’s future is complicated as the player is currently on loan with Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray. The striker joined the Turkish giants on loan in February, in a deal that tied the Spaniard to the club until January 2026. Galatasaray have an option to buy the player permanently, as well as an optional extension that can be activated to take the loan contract up to June 2026.
Milan and Como have reached an agreement, Suwarso himself admitted as much, but now the Rossoneri must negotiate with Galatasaray on terms to cancel the loan. If not, Morata will stay in Turkey as his contract dictates and Como will miss out on one of their top targets this summer.
If Victor Osimhen moves to Galatasaray, however, the Turkish club will likely loosen their grip on Morata and this scenario could allow the player to move freely to Como.
