Milik injured during freak accident in Juventus gym
Arkadiusz Milik suffered a bizarre injury in the Juventus gym that has further delayed his return to full training for at least another week.
The striker has not played at all since the last round of the Serie A season on May 25, 2024.
He sustained a serious meniscus injury in June 2024 and it took far longer than expected to recover, suffering relapses and muscular issues as he tried to get back in shape.
It was hoped that the 31-year-old could contribute something this season, or at least be in sufficient condition to complete a transfer elsewhere.
Milik sustains fresh injury setback
That doesn’t seem to be going too well, as a formal statement today confirmed Milik had suffered a freak injury while working in the gym on June 24.
The precise details are sketchy, but the club website notes the Poland international was left with a nasty cut to the back of the right tibial area.
This is effectively his calf muscle and the prognosis given was for seven days, depending on how the wound develops.
Of the other Juventus players, Lloyd Kelly, Nicolò Savona, Juan Cabal and Mattia Perin are also not in full training due to injuries.
