Douglas Luiz: Juventus to take disciplinary measures and sell midfielder
Juventus are set to take disciplinary measures after Douglas Luiz failed to report for the first day of pre-season, which will also lead to his summer departure.
Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz didn’t show up for the first day of pre-season on Thursday. The Serie A giants are set to take disciplinary measures, according to Fabrizio Romano and Romeo Agresti, as the midfielder’s absence had not been authorised.
Juventus take disciplinary action against Douglas Luiz
Douglas Luiz failed to justify his €50m price at the Allianz Stadium last season as he didn’t score or assist in 27 appearances and missed 20 games due to injuries.
Douglas Luiz was never a regular starter under Igor Tudor or his predecessor Thiago Motta and only played for 45 minutes in the recent Club World Cup.
Premier League clubs interested in Douglas Luiz
The former Aston Villa midfielder is clearly seeking a way out of the Allianz Stadium and has been linked with several Premier League clubs already.
His agent is expected to meet with several English clubs this week. In the meantime, Juventus aim for a €40m sale to avoid a capital loss.
