Terry McLaurin Rumors: Trade Request ‘On Table’ For Potential Patriots Target
Terry McLaurin recently said he wasn’t requesting a trade from the Washington Commanders despite frustrations stemming from a contract dispute.
A trade request reportedly isn’t off the table, however.
FOX Sports’ NFL reporter Henry McKenna on Monday reported the star wide receiver will explore every option including a holdout, a hold-in and a trade request.
“Everything will be on the table,” a source close to McLaurin told McKenna.
Washington is set to report to training camp Tuesday.

McLaurin, who enters his final season under contract, recently expressed disappointment in how the Commanders have handled negotiations. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, McLaurin is looking to be paid more than $30 million per season, which would put him in second-richest tier behind Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson, each of whom eclipsed $40 million.
Most around the league believe the Commanders will come to terms on an agreement with McLaurin. After all, Washington is a legitimate contender in the NFC with quarterback Jayden Daniels and dealing McLaurin would hinder their pursuit.
If the two-time Pro Bowler was to request a trade, however, it’s fair to think he would have a handful of teams interested. The New England Patriots, specifically, likely would be interested in McLaurin given their need to improve their receiver room and the fact they have the money to spend.
McLaurin’s situation surely will be closely monitored by those at One Patriot Place, and elsewhere.
