Man Utd now preparing move to sign 23-year-old Belgian star, likely to bid - report

Manchester United could enter the transfer market for a new goalkeeper this summer.

The Red Devils had a dismal 2024/25 campaign as they finished 15th in the Premier League.

Andre Onana was unconvincing between the sticks, and United may want a solid competitor.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, United’s interest in Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been known for some time.

The club have now added him to their shortlist, and the interest is becoming more concrete.

There is a good chance that an official bid will arrive soon from the Mancunian giants.

Antwerp are hoping to secure a package between €15-20 million for the Belgian sensation.

Lammens would be a bargain signing

The 23-year-old had a fabulous breakthrough campaign with Antwerp last term.

He made 4.3 saves per league game, with an impressive success rate of 77 percent.

The shot-stopper had an xGOT of 15.57 (goals prevented) and made some extraordinary stops.

Aside from his strong reflexes, Lammens also impressed with his shot and long-range distribution.

He completed 71 percent of his passes in the Belgian top flight with an average of seven long balls.

Lammens likewise showed his credentials from the penalty spot, saving four out of eight spot kicks.

The Belgian has the traits to become an elite goalkeeper. He would be a bargain signing for €15-20m.

Onana is presently injured, but he is anticipated to return for the friendly against Everton in early August.

In our view, Lammens could start as an understudy to Onana next term before replacing him in the long run.

His arrival should pave the way for the departure of backup keeper Altay Bayindir before the transfer deadline.
